Act II.1 line 114- 116
The forest walks are wide and spacious,
And many unfrequent plots there are,
Fitted by kind for rape and villainy.
Act II.3 lines 12-20
During Act II many events occur in the forest. However, most of them are malicious and sinful. Perhaps, as Freud would suggest, the forest represents humanity's id. Tamora tries to make love with Aaron, Lavina and Bassianus openly insult Tamora, Bassianus is murdered and two innocent people are blamed, and Lavina is tragically rapped by Chiron and Demetrius. Although Saturninus tries to come to the rescue to make order from the disorder, he decides to kill two Innocent people. The forest represents a freedom from civilization; a place where barbarians can come out. At the center of this forest likes the hole. This hole seems like the "sun" to the forest. It gives it life by being its center of mischief. Without rule and order in civilization, peoples desires and wants take over. They only care about themselves which causes the disasters and tragedies.
